Parish Council Information
The villages of East and West Runton are combined for local government purposes into two electoral wards,
each represented by six Parish Councillors; the current Members names are listed below. Meetings are held
on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of December, which is on the third Tuesday, and in
August there is no meeting. The venues alternate between the Village Hall at East Runton and the Church Hall
at West Runton . The Annual Parish Meeting also alternates between the villages.

The current Members of the Parish Council are:

Each meeting commences at 7.15 pm unless otherwise notified and the agenda is displayed on the Parish
Notice Boards and on this website. Members of the public are most welcome and there is an open session at
the start of the meeting when any member of the public present can address the meeting.

The Runtons are represented at North Norfolk District Council by Councillor Mr V Saunders of Seacroft, Church Close, West Runton. NR27 9QY.
At Norfolk County Council, Councillor Mr J Perry-Warnes who represents parishes in The Holt Electoral Division.
The local Member of Parliament is Mr Norman Lamb whose constituent office is at 15 Market Place North

LATEST NEWS:

Proposed Post Office Closure.  Post Office Ltd have proposed closing East Runton Sub-Post Office as part of their National Review.  If you value this post office and wish to object to its closure come along to the Annual Parish Meeting, East Runton Village Hall on Tuesday 22nd at 6.30 pm.

West Runton Rail Footbridge: Due to objections raised against compulsory purchase orders for replacement
common land, the County Councils scheme to strengthen the road bridge and install single lane traffic light
controlled working with a guarded footway will be delayed until at least the Autumn 2008.
Parish Archive: The Archive committee and volunteers will be meeting at The Reading Room, East Runton on
the third Wednesday of the month (less December),from 7.30 pm. If any one has interesting photographs,documents or other media they would like to have copied into the parish archive, please call in or contact Councillor Ray Spinks or the Parish Clerk (details above).
 
Highways: A 20 mph speed restriction for the High Street, East Runton and a pedestrian crossing in West
Runton are currently under consideration.
